Starting Friday, May 8, there will be one extra bus added to Route 4 during peak ridership hours -- 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Route 4 timetable has also been updated in order to evenly spread out the trips. Instead of the usual 30-minute service, there will be a trip available every 20 minutes.
This is a temporary change that will assist riders in socially distancing while on the bus. Having more trips available will allow riders to have more options for travel times, and prevent crowding.
For their safety, riders are encouraged to pay attention to how full the bus is when it arrives at the bus stop. If the bus appears too full to socially distance with more people boarding, riders should wait for the next bus when possible.
This change will be in effect for as long as needed to comply with social distancing recommendations. Before transitioning back to the normal schedule, MATBUS will inform passengers well in advance.
