Since the beginning of the mask requirement on MATBUS vehicles, we have been happy to offer free disposable masks on board. This giveaway period has allowed riders to use a disposable option if they forget their own, and has given those without masks appropriate time to get reusable face coverings.
Our complimentary on-board masks will be available while supplies last, or until the end of the giveaway period on August 31. Starting September 1, riders must bring their own face coverings. Acceptable face coverings can include masks, bandanas, neck gaiters, scarves, and more.
For those who still do not have face coverings, we will be offering free, reusable, cloth face masks at the downtown hub. These are in limited supply, but are available upon request from MATBUS staff.
Masks are required on all MATBUS vehicles, and while near others at bus stops. As a reminder, masks are not required for those with medical conditions or disabilities that prevent them from wearing a mask. Children who are 5 years old and under are not required to wear a mask, and masks are not recommended for children under 2 years old.
Passengers who do not follow this policy may be denied service, or asked to leave the MATBUS vehicle or facility.
Drivers and other MATBUS staff are also required to wear face coverings.
We appreciate your help in keeping MATBUS a safe transportation option for our community!
