The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has issued an extension to their mask requirement directive. Masks are required for all passengers and staff -- including those that are fully vaccinated -- on all public transportation and transit buildings. The requirement has been extended until January 18, 2022, and overrides any mask guidelines on the state or local level.

MATBUS recognizes the importance of protecting the health and well-being of our riders, staff, and community. Because of this, masks will continue to be required on all MATBUS vehicles and property. This includes both fixed route and MAT Paratransit services. Masks must cover both the nose and mouth. If you board without a face mask, bus drivers will provide a complimentary disposable mask when available.

Passengers with medical conditions or disabilities that prevent them from wearing a mask will not be required to wear one. Children who are 5 years old and under will not be required to wear a mask, and masks are not recommended for children under 2 years old.

Passengers who do not follow this policy may be denied service, or asked to leave the MATBUS vehicle or facility.
