Overview
MAT Paratransit is a public transportation service designed for individuals with disabilities who require assistance while using the Fargo-Moorhead MATBUS Fixed Route Bus Service. To use the service, riders must apply and receive approval beforehand. The service uses vehicles with lifts to help individuals with difficulty navigating stairs. The maximum weight limit for the passenger and mobility device is 800 pounds. This service provides door-to-door transportation with drivers available to assist the rider between the vehicle and the building. Advance reservations are necessary. MAT Paratransit does not offer emergency medical services.

MAT Paratransit provides door-thru-first door transportation service on a reservation basis for individuals with disabilities who are ADA Paratransit Eligible and unable to utilize MATBUS fixed route service independently. MAT Paratransit features accessible vans and/or buses with wheelchair lifts.
We Are A Shared Ride Service
MAT Paratransit is a shared ride service which means the rider may not go directly to their destination without the driver stopping to pick up or drop off other passengers along the way. Paratransit provides over 200 rides per day. Driver schedules are designed ahead of time to accommodate these rides as efficiently as possible within the city limits of Moorhead, Dilworth, Fargo and West Fargo.

MATBUS Fixed Route Bus Service
In the Fargo-Moorhead metropolitan area, there are a number of buses that travel on predetermined or fixed routes on regular time schedules. This service is referred to as MATBUS and is open to the general public. To use MATBUS, you may need to travel to the bus stop, wait outside until the bus arrives, transfer between buses, recognize your destination, etc. All of the buses have wheelchair ramps.

For MATBUS schedule information, call the Ground Transportation Center at 701.232.7500 Option 2 on weekdays between 6:00 a.m. and 10:15 p.m., and Saturdays 7:00 a.m. to 10:15 p.m.
